When foldNOTE engineers required support in developing their patented, innovative and unique Notebook PC design (that within the same form factor as a standard Laptop, offers twice the screen size, is extremely thin and offers multiple ergonomic configurations), they selected CxO to assist them through the process of acquiring IP Protection, line-up potential Vendor Clients, prepare for presentations, raise funds and finalize a prototype.

Upgrade or Update!

Our client was looking at upgrading their software systems in use for a number of years and now seemingly not adequate anymore to sustain their business growth.

Our Business Analysts, following our tried and tested process, interviewed the management team and key staff to understand where the issues lie. They itemized the current back-end systems being utilized and received a clear briefing of where the shortfalls lie.

Upon studying the problem with the technology team, CxO offered 2 options. The first to move to a new ERP system and the second to stay with existing systems, reworked to work together and to fill-in existing gaps in requirements.

The proposal included the costs of purchase of the new system, as well as the costs relating to re-training, business disruption, customized development required for the new ERP system to meet the client's changing needs, etc. The cost differential was significantly more to deploy a new ERP system and the client chose to stay with the existing systems.

CxO commissioned the development of a new middleware component, now called Gloo that effectively glued the existing systems, added new features offered by a new CRM system that was acquired by the client and gave the client web access to their systems and data facilitating ubiquitous access to their management information and reporting wherever a PC is available connected to the internet or via hand helds!

The result is a happy client and their team. This method required little training while significantly improving data access and integrity, eliminating data double-ups.

Membership Loyalty

A major international hotel chain and a SmartCard technology provider selected CxO at the concept stage of design, development, implementation, training and marketing of an innovative solution that replaced costly paperwork while significantly reducing call-centre calls and improving loyalty.

CxO, project managed the process above, assisting in the delivery of a solution whereby the member received a new smartcard instead of a myriad of loose pieces of paper (coupons). Now all the customer has to do is turn up at their preferred destination, swipe the card and deduct coupons. The Client is now able to dynamically introduce campaigns as required, in real time.

This solution delivered a profitably business to the technology provider, increased (paid) membership for the Client and lowered costs to the Client adding millions of dollars to the bottom-line, annually.

Payment Gateway

A young entrepreneur turned his concept into a new business, at the time when the internet was still a curiosity rather than the business infrastructure. His vision was that the Internet was global and so traders would require the capability to process payments in any currency.

The business was small, with a handful of clients, the technology was not scalable requiring a significant effort by the programmers, the sales effort required a step-up whilst at the same time, funding was required.

CxO allocated the appropriate resources, mentored the Founder, established appropriate processes and procedures, established KRAs and KPIs to motivate the team towards common goals and built a new sales team. The end result was a well funded organization with scalable organizational structure and IT systems with the support of financial organizations (for exchange trading) in the required geographies, enabling the business to take advantage of the exponential growth of online trading.

Fire your Telco!

Now isn’t that a passion for most of us!

Long before Skype was a known brand, let alone a household name, this organization developed brilliant technologies and infrastructures to replace the traditional Telco with a Telco independent (VoIP based) gateway offering significant savings for home and business customers.

CxO’s involvement was with the founding team to facilitate the thinking and planning processes and to ensure that:

  • all options, opportunities and threats were pragmatically considered
  • appropriate business plans were established
  • products were accurately defined
  • the right team was hired

Funding, growth and exit options were integral to the business plan, the right training was planned and executed and, the management team had a coach/mentor to assist in their and the organization’s development.

The investors achieved their 3 year plan to build a strong offering and customer base to exit through a business sale.

Online travel booking

Now a way of life, in 2003, online travel bookings were for technocrats who lived at the “bleeding edge”. When this 2 million member organization required advice and support relating to the development of a business plan, attaining board approval, ensuring suppliers were onboard and more importantly managing the change required within the organization, they turned to a CxO Executive.

Board approval was gained and the groundswell of support was ensured through much research and multiple roadshows.
