Management Consulting History

Since 1997, Aldo has been a Catalyst for change, assisting organisations large and small in the processes of developing solutions, raising funds, cost-cutting, revenue-acceleration, staff development, restructure and mergers and acquisitions.

In 2000, CxO Consulting was created to take advantage of the tools and programs developed thus far and to continue refining them and building new ones to better address Client needs. CxO is a boutique multi-disciplined management consulting firm. It involves other highly-regarded individuals and we workshop potential client solution leveraging each-other’s areas of core expertise.

In 2007, a decision was made to make our Unique Management tools freely available to all as we realised that the tools while essential only deliver once the Leaders (we believe that(1)all Client employees are potential Leaders within their existing roles) learn to operate from their Essence. This is now our most powerful Change Management tool and we call it INVERSION. These tools include solution development, change analysis - stakeholder analysis, change impact and gap analysis (which we call Spark-Analysis) and training needs analysis.

In 2008, our Vision continued to grow to include the adoption of tried and tested programs by Tom Voccola, better known for his “The Accidental CEO.... from Ego to Purpose”. This book is now available free of charge to all employees of our Clients as it contains the key that unleashes the collective potential of the people that make-up an organisation.

My Projects Highlights:

- Quasi government institution with 2 million constituents; following demutualisation, restructured Tourism Division to eliminate multi-million dollar losses and increase revenues. This encompassed the standard steps of change, including and not limited to; engaging people in change, change analysis, hands-on involvement and seamless communication to all stake-holders including the Board, General Management team and staff within and around the division. Uniquely and concurrently, a focus was taken on a significant project (project within a project) to take motel bookings, maps and guides procurement to an online environment in the early days of the internet. Our technology foothold as well as tender process and verbal/writing and executive level communication expertise, were critical for the success of this project.

- Major Global Hotel chain; on behalf of a technology organisation in the process of engaging, tailoring and deployment including all project management aspects of SmartCard technology to replace paper voucher and manual tracking program with 110,000+ members. In 2004, this represented ground-breaking technologies, processes and advanced local and international stake-holder management was crucial for the success of this project.

- Global Computer Company; assisted in the launch of New Zealand subsidiary achieving $20m in revenues by the end of the second year. This involved all the contracts negotiation, logistics, employment, legal and funding aspects required of such a venture. A project within a project was to successfully establish a local manufacturing plant; a key aspect of the successful roll-out strategy.

- Global IT distribution firm; at 60 employees with $60m in revenues, our charter was to take-over (Imagineering) a $300m organisation with 200 staff. Key objective to restructure for growth with a collective 220 staff. The organisation grew to a multi-billion entity before a sale to a major global entity. Key roles principally included Directing Sales, Marketing and Internal and external communications as well as restructuring from a process and human perspective.

- Leading Publisher; Having turned-around a loss making Italian PC subsidiary enterprise into $1m profit in our 1st year engagement (following the success in New Zealand), we accepted an acting CEO role with CMP’s Italian Publisher, Il Mio Castello. The charter was to turn the family business with 12 magazine titles into a structured corporation to eventually successfully attract and accept an offer from Future Publishing.

- Mobile Software Developer; firmly established as a ruggedized handheld hardware solutions house, the charter was to transition the organisation, strongly growing into the software solutions area and lowering the dependence on the very competitive and low-margin hardware provision. Through Client research, internal staff and stake-holder analysis and a change program and with little staff change and much staff development, new processes, procedures, job specs and performance related incentive programs were deployed to position the organisation for growth in a high growth handheld software provision.
